Our Trust

“To provide a world class education locally, enabling every pupil to flourish”

Sapientia Education Trust was formed in 2016 and whilst Wymondham College was the founding school, it is now part of a wider local trust of 22 schools serving children and families across Norfolk and Suffolk. The Trust was founded on the principle that every child deserves a world class education locally, and that belief shapes the work we undertake in our schools each and every day.

At the core of that work is the belief that education practice can only improve and develop through the sharing of ideas and knowledge and Sapientia Education Trust is a community of schools and professionals working collegiately towards that shared vision.

We also understand and recognise the value of the incredible work that goes on in schools across Norfolk and our collective desire to improve outcomes. We are proud to support a wide range of system led approaches to developing and sharing best practice and Sapientia Education Trust welcomes the opportunity to work in partnership with all schools and Trusts.

Our strategic intent is:

To deliver an education that is holistic and broad ranging, inclusive and diverse, of high quality in and beyond the classroom

To ensure opportunities to achieve are available for all

To harness and develop the talents that exist in the Trust

To meet the professional needs of staff, sharing best practice, with a strong commitment to personal development

Our Trust will be:

Responsive to schools as they join the Trust, valuing the unique qualities/individualism of each Trust school, whilst recognising the need for all schools to deliver the strategic intents of the Trust.

Run on sound and ethical business principles, offering a structure whereby resources and expertise can be focused across all of the schools, keeping down back office costs and driving up standards.

Our Ethos and Values

Our Ethos | Serving the Greater Good Through Education

At the heart of our trust sits a simple but profound belief: education is a collective act of service. Everything we do—every decision, every partnership, every lesson—flows from a commitment to the greater good and the conviction that every learner deserves the opportunity to flourish.

Our ethos is shaped by six core values that guide our actions and define the culture we build together.

Our Values
Restlessness of Ambition | For Ourselves and Every Learner

We refuse to settle

As educators, we hold a restless ambition to continually improve, innovate and deepen our impact. We expect excellence from ourselves so we can inspire excellence in others.

We believe every learner can achieve highly, and we pursue that belief with energy, intentionality and hope. High expectations are not a slogan—they are an active promise.

Co‑Agency | Learning With, Not Just For, Our Pupils

We recognise learners as active partners in their education

Together, we co‑construct learning journeys where voice, agency and responsibility are shared.

This partnership equips pupils with the skills, confidence and self‑belief to shape their futures and contribute meaningfully to society.

Co‑agency transforms learning from something done to children, to something done with them.

Synergy | Stronger Together, Better Together

We embrace the power of collaboration across schools, phases and disciplines

Our trust operates as a connected community where professional expertise, resources and learning are shared freely and generously.

This synergy enables us to go further than any school could alone—ensuring every learner benefits from the collective strength of many.

Trust, Integrity and Honesty | The Core of Our Culture

We build relationships rooted in transparency, honesty and a deep respect for other

These principles shape the way we lead, communicate and make decisions. They ensure that staff, pupils and families can rely on us to act ethically, consistently and with the best interests of learners at the centre.

Trust is not assumed; it is earned each day through integrity in action.

A Combined Ethic | Many Voices, One Purpose

Our ethos is a shared endeavour

We draw together the perspectives of pupils, families, staff and communities, recognising that each contributes something essential. Through this combined ethic, we create environments where everyone feels a sense of belonging and responsibility.

We honour local identity while working from shared principles, allowing each school to express its uniqueness within a common moral framework.

Belief That All Can Achieve | Inclusion and Achievement

We are unwavering in our belief that every child, without exception, can thrive

Our schools cultivate supportive, inclusive cultures where learners are known, valued and encouraged to participate fully in all aspects of school life.

Pastoral care, wellbeing and character development sit alongside academic growth because achievement is multidimensional, and every individual deserves the opportunity to shine.

What This Ethos Means in Practice
Belief That All Can Achieve | Inclusion and Achievement

We commit to developing character, curiosity and resilience alongside knowledge and skills.

Enrichment, breadth of curriculum and opportunities beyond the classroom are central to our offer.

Continuous Professional Growth

We invest in leadership development, teacher training and professional networks that nurture reflective, ambitious practitioners who grow together and inspire one another.

Community‑Connected Schools

Each school adapts its curriculum and culture to the needs of its community, ensuring relevance, authenticity and meaningful contribution to local life.
